Heather screamed in anguish. Her wracking sobs soaked the lily-white lace pillow her face was buried in, and she clutched it tightly with her hands. The young woman had been laying on her bed for over an hour, heart broken, and embarrassed. A white wedding dress lay crumpled on the floor. She screamed again, shaking her head in frustration. Through her sobs, she murmured, “I'm so stupid!”
She lifted her face from the pillow. Ruddy red blotches stained her cheeks, and her eyes were puffy from hours spent crying. Heather glanced at the dress on the floor and scowled, “What a waste of money!”, she snarled, “Can't even return the damn thing because...”. Happy Anniversary

 Today marks a milestone in my life. Exactly one year ago I made a life-changing decision; to move away from my hometown. I've done it a few times before, having lived in Vancouver, Tofield (Alberta), and even St. Jean (Quebec). What makes this move different than all the others is the fact that I have no intention of ever returning to the Rainy River District. I moved, with the sole intention of changing my life.
I had to change. For two years my life was steadily moving downhill. On June 30th, 2012, an incident occurred that forever changed me, and I've been trying hard to get myself back on the right track since that horrid day. I couch-surfed for over a year, never having a place to call my own and in most cases, not even a bed! I was subservient to the whims of those I lived with. I tried to find love, but ended up getting cheated on and having my heart broken again. I was victim to a huge fire, and made homeless three times in the space of a month and a half! I was barely…
